IN LOVING MEMORY
Lorelei Elizabeth Geoghegan (aka Doodle), 5 years old, of Suffolk, Virginia traded in her warrior princess cape and hair bow for the most beautiful angel wings on July 7, 2021.
Lorelei faced battles every single day with hope in her heart, love in her eyes and perfect, epic hair. She accomplished more in her short five years than most could do in 100 years. Despite being nonverbal due to her rare Mitochondrial Disease, Lorelei shared her pure, yet often sassy, soul with everyone. She was an expert cuddler, lover of Disney movies, happy camper, hammock aficionado, sucker for fart noises, Daisy Girl Scout and guacamole lick-tester. Her heart was happiest when she was kicking, splashing, playing or floating in water.
Lorelei leaves behind her proud, faithful, and dare we say exhausted Dada and Mama, Michael and Susan Geoghegan, her soulmate of a little brother, Benji, her companion dogs Olivia and Jovie Doodle – as well as loving grandparents, aunties and uncles.
She powered through by the eternal grace of God, the never ending love of her family and the overwhelming support of her medical team and Fridays With Lorelei community. The family would like to send special thanks to Lorelei’s entire care team including CHKD doctors, nurses, VAT team, chaplains, NICU and PICU staff. They also want to recognize the amazing home health nurses that have loved Lorelei and CTC therapists who never stopped encouraging her.
